Himalayan Nepalese & Indian Cuisine

So happy these guys are open close to me! As a newer convert to Indian cuisine, I was excited to try Himalayan Nepalese & Indian Cuisine Food Truck, and I’m thrilled to say it exceeded my expectations. We only stopped by for a couple of appetizers, but based on those alone, I know I’ll be back very soon for a full meal. We had the Veg Samosas and the Himalayan Cauliflower—both were excellent. The Veg Samosas (just two per order) were larger than most we’ve had elsewhere and packed with a flavorful potato and pea filling. The dipping sauce was a perfect complement, nicely balanced and not too spicy. The Himalayan Cauliflower absolutely stole the show. I asked for it spicy—“load it up,” I said—and what I got was a generous portion of crispy fried cauliflower florets, tossed in a sticky-sweet chili sauce that hit all the right notes. It was flavorful, had a nice warming heat (not overpowering), and the cauliflower still had a great bite to it. I will definitely be ordering this again. Even though we only tried appetizers, the quality of both dishes gives me confidence in the rest of the menu. They offer an impressive variety of vegetarian options along with proteins like chicken, goat/lamb, and shrimp. I’m also excited to try their naan, which I’ve heard is fantastic. The prices are reasonable ($7–$17), and while it’s a food truck, the location is convenient—right outside the Chevron on Wonder World Drive. They’ve got a couple of tables with umbrellas if you want to eat on-site. All in all, this is a great new addition to San Marcos, especially for anyone craving bold, flavorful dishes from the Himalayan, Nepalese, and Indian traditions. Definitely give them a try—I think you’ll like it as much as we did. Can’t wait to go back and try more—will update this review soon!

I grew up eating Indian food, so I can be very picky when it comes to takeout. I came here with my husband and we loved it!! This place is absolutely amazing!!! Everything we ordered was delicious! Will be coming here again any chance I get!!

My wife and I have come here many times in the past few months, and it never disappoints! We’ve been working our way through the menu. Sometimes we take it home, sometimes we eat at one of the two picnic tables they have provided. So good.

Coconut curry was absolutely delicious. Good portions, served nice and hot! Garlic Naan was to die for. Homemade lemonade was good. Friendly staff. Will definitely be back!

Food was really good. And it’s nice to get Indian food in this area because there is a lack of it. Service was exceptional. I had a customer order that they did for me that wasn’t on the menu. Food was a little light on the chicken in the dishes I ordered. Could’ve been more in there.Giving it two stars for atmosphere because it’s a food truck so really no atmosphere to speak of.

I highly recommend Himalayan Nepalese & Indian Cuisine food truck. It is located between the Chevron and CVS parking lot. We had the veg dumplings (momo) with chili, butter naan, Himalayan lamb curry (spicy and extra spicy), and gulab jaman (dessert). EVERY dish we ordered was flavorful and authentic. The butter naan was buttery and fluffy, you can taste the homemade care that went into it. The hint of ginger in the dumpling (momo) gave a nice aroma and popped out. The lamb was perfectly simmered in the spices of the curry and not overcooked. They maintain a natural and authentic seasoning and spice level. I highly recommend this place for people craving and yearning for authenticity and culture. The chefs and owner approached us many times and were truly kind and welcoming which made the experience more comforting. This made it feel like a sense of home and not in a parking lot. Would definitely come back a million more times.

Finally some real Indian food in San Marcos!!! So delicious! Soo flavorful! Super tender and fluffy garlic naan. Veggie samosa fried to perfection. The staff is nice and friendly. Korma spiced perfectly. 10 out of 10! I will eat here again.

Our food was perfect; very flavorful and delicious! Nice portion sizes too, I had some leftovers. We ordered the lamb biryani, chicken tikka masala, and the Himalayan Delights Platter (a great choice if you want to try a lot of their appetizers). It took about 25 minutes since they had a couple orders infront of us. Two small picnic tables are outside the ruck (it is by the gas station so we chose to take our food home). Overall super yummy and worth it! I’m so glad San Marcos has a new Indian cuisine spot.
